Trump Urges House Republicans to Vote for Release of Jeffrey Epstein Files

WASHINGTON — In a surprising shift, President Donald Trump called on House Republicans to support the release of files related to the Jeffrey Epstein case, reversing his previous opposition. The move comes as growing support within his own party makes passage increasingly likely.

Trump made the announcement on social media late Sunday after returning from Florida, stating. “We have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party.”

The decision follows a contentious debate among GOP members, including tension with Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. One of Trump’s former staunchest allies. Analysts see Trump’s change of stance as an acknowledgment that proponents of the measure have enough votes to pass the House. Though its future in the Senate remains uncertain.

Trump emphasized, “I DON’T CARE! All I do care about is that Republicans get BACK ON POINT.”

The legislation would compel the Justice Department to release all files and communications concerning. Epstein and his death in federal prison. While allowing sensitive information about victims or ongoing investigations to be redacted. Supporters anticipate a strong Republican turnout, with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) predicting over 100 GOP votes in favor, potentially creating a veto-proof majority.

Rep. Massie and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) initially introduced a discharge petition in July, a rarely successful procedure to bypass House leadership and force a vote. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) had previously criticized the effort and delayed GOP legislative priorities. But with the petition reaching the required 218 signatures. A House vote is now expected.

New documents have also renewed scrutiny of Epstein’s connections, including a 2019 email implying Trump’s awareness of Epstein’s activities. The White House maintains that Democrats are selectively leaking these emails to target the president. Trump has never been accused of wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Whose network included numerous high-profile figures.

As the vote approaches, Trump’s endorsement signals a rare instance of him adjusting his position due to internal GOP pressure. Underscoring the growing influence of House Republicans pushing for transparency.
